About

One builder. Many small bets.

Kovacs Software is an independent product studio for focused apps, SaaS experiments, and practical AI tools — built in public, one release at a time.

The Builder

The person behind the products

I’m the indie developer behind @kovsmakesapps. I build iPhone apps, SaaS products, and AI-assisted tools around problems that are small enough to explain clearly and useful enough to test in the real world.

Some products become businesses. Some stay small. Others teach me exactly what not to build next. The portfolio matters, but the real thread connecting it is a repeatable process: ship a focused version, test distribution, listen closely, and improve the decision-making with every launch.

I share that process openly — including the technical choices, Apple Ads and ASO experiments, numbers, mistakes, and changes of mind that happen between an idea and a useful product.

Principles

How I choose what to build

A few constraints keep a portfolio of experiments from becoming a pile of disconnected projects.

A clear job

The product should solve a problem that can be described without a long pitch or a complicated diagram.

A testable assumption

Every release should answer something useful about demand, behavior, pricing, or distribution.

A maintainable shape

Simple architecture and a focused scope leave room to learn, change direction, and keep shipping.

Why Build in Public

The useful part happens between launches

“I tried this. This happened. I learned this. Here is what I’m testing next.”

That record is valuable before the results look impressive. It makes the work more honest, helps other builders avoid repeated mistakes, and turns every product into more than a download page. Build Notes are where the durable technical write-ups live; X is where the shorter observations and conversations happen.
